Southland Athletic Association
The Southland Athletic Association (SAA) was incorporated in the State of Illinois on March 27, 2001. Its primary mission remains to organize general athletic recreation and to schedule training experiences for youth and adult participants alike.
The association assembles individuals and teams interested in pursuing common goals through competition in athletic activities and contests. The SAA intentionally promotes the positive values developed through sports participation, including the building of character and the development of leadership skills.
The Southland Athletic Association invests approximately 75% of its manpower resources to the administration of leagues and the scheduling of athletic contests for teams that elect to join its leagues. The remaining manpower is committed to educating players and coaches on the rules and the skills necessary to compete effectively in the contests.
Soccer and volleyball have been identified as the primary sports to be organized and developed within the Association. Ron Bergstrom is the President of this 501(c)3.
